Each round sling opens with a full-circumference zip and closes into a drum-shaped little bag, its face crowned by a hand-painted Madhubani mandala — a fish for abundance, a peacock mid-turn, a butterfly with patterned wings — ringed by petal arcs, leaf vines and the fine hatched linework that only a Mithila artist's nib pen makes. The natural jute weave shows through the pigment, so the colour sits into the cloth rather than on top of it, and a crisp crimson piping traces the rim to hold the shape.
