Madhubani Painting Eco Friendly and Trendy Jute Bags
$99.00
An everyday sling bag with a gallery panel on the flap. Woven from natural golden jute and painted freehand in the Madhubani style of Mithila, Bihar, each flap carries its own folk world — a striped fish gliding through lotus vines, a peacock perched on a berry-laden branch, a horse framed in a triangle border, or a pair of butterflies drifting over open blossoms. The artisans draw every outline with a fine nib and fill it with earthy turmeric, terracotta, indigo, teal and leaf green, then finish the edges with jute binding so the artwork sits framed like a small canvas. Inside, a cotton-lined main compartment with a zip pocket holds a phone, wallet, sunglasses and a compact notebook, and the adjustable jute strap moves from shoulder to cross body in a second. Eco-friendly by nature: jute is biodegradable, needs little water to grow and gets stronger the more you carry. Because each bag is painted individually in a home studio, the motif you receive is unique — small variations in a petal or feather are the mark of a human hand. Ships plastic-free.
